Teens for Life fund raiser

The HS Teens for Life will be hosting a Pizza Hut night from 5:00-8:00 at
the South Burlington location on Monday, March 22. Pizza Hut will donate 15%
and all tips will go to the organization. Funds raised will be given to
Catholic Social Services for support of the earthquake victims in Haiti.

Drivers ed info

As of today drivers ed is full. Classes are on Weds nights and Sat
mornings.Dates are April 7, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24, 28, Wed- 6-9pm and Sat 9-12
in the high school. Cost is $280 and is due on or before classes start. Make
checks payable to Nebraska Safety Council. Any question call Jamie at

Dance Team at State Cheer and Dance Championships

The STC Hawkettes Dance Team participated in the 3rd annual Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Championships held at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island.

The Hawkettes performed a Jazz Routine to Circus (choreographed by Nicole Mitchell and Chelsea Lau) and a Pom Routine to Run the Show (choreographed by Nicole Mitchell).

Hawkettes Dance Team Auditions - 2010-2011

HAWKETTES DANCE TEAM AUDITIONS

Mandatory Student/Parent Meeting:
4:00 PM Sunday, February 28, Room M201
Mrs. Adrian will outline dance team expectations, go over the requirements and sign paperwork. Mrs. Adrian MUST meet with a parent face-to-face before a student can audition.

Audition Clinic:
6:30 AM Monday-Wednesday, March 1 - March 3
AND
6:30 AM Monday-Wednesday March 8 - March 10

Auditions:
5:30 PM Wednesday, March 10

Students in grades 8-11 are invited to audition for the 2010-2011 STC Hawkettes Dance Team. Students will attend 6 morning practices during the Audition Clinic to learn the audition dance. Auditions will consist of student applications, adult recommendations, and performing the audition dance before three judges from the UNK Dance Squad.

Teens for Life blood drive

The HS Teens for Life are sponsoring a Red Cross blood drive on Monday,
March 1st in the east gym. Appointments are scheduled every 15 minutes
beginning at 8:30 and concluding at 1:45. (The 8:30 and 9:15 appointment
times are currently full.) If you would like to donate at our drive,
please email a time to me and I will try to honor your request. It takes
approximately an hour to go through the donation process.

STC Hawkettes Dance Team participates in the Tri-School Dance

The St. Cecilia Hawkette Dance Team participated in the 2nd annual Tri-School Dance Performance at Adams Central, Tuesday, February 9 during the half-time of the AC v STC boys varsity basketball game. An encore performance will be held at half-time of the HHS v AC boys varsity basketball game, Friday, February 19.

The Tri-School Dance Team consists of five St. Cecilia Hawkettes (coached by Tracy Schuller Adrian), twelve Adams Central Stars (coached by Kay Jorgensen and Teresa Miller), and eleven Hastings High Tigerettes (coached by Beth Kohmetscher). The teams attended the same National Dance Alliance summer camp, where they all learned the same Team dance to Give Me More (mix).

The Tri-School Dance Team Performance has fostered a spirit of cooperation and unity between the dancers who attend the three High Schools in Hastings. The teams cheered each other on last year at the NE State Cheer and Dance Championship, where all teams will be performing again in 2010, although separately on February 20. The coaches have collaborated to perform at the Adams County Adoption Celebration earlier in the year, and to coordinate past and future NDA summer camp dates. The teams are expected to attend camp again June 25-27, hosted by Adams Central, so we can look forward to the Third Annual Tri-School dance in 2011!

We are excited to announce that our Schwan’s Fundraisingâ will have a truck at Burlington Express (14^th & Burlington) on December 12th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Thank you in advance to everyone who is out supporting our Close-up Group.

Based on the dollars sold on this day, Schwan’s will donate a percentage of the dollars to our organization. Come by and show your support for our St. Cecilia Close-Up group.

The truck will have over 300 of Schwan’s quality products to choose from. Simply come by, place your order from the Schwan’s Representative and take your products home to enjoy! I’m confident you will find something for every eating occasion, flavor profile and for any nutritional need. FBLA Toy Drive

Red Cross Blood Drive

The Teens for Life/Red Cross blood drive will be held in the east gym on Monday, Dec. 7. Teens for Life members will unload the Red Cross vans beginning at 7:15 AM. Red Cross employees will need access to the east gym at that time. Donation appts. begin at 8:30 with the last appts. scheduled for 1:45. We hope to be loading the vans by 3:00-3:30.

Teens for Life members will sign up to work the drive this week. I will email and post the schedule as soon as possible. Students should not be excused from tests or quizzes - class has priority.

There are currently 31 adults and 23 students signed up to donate. If you have not signed up and would like to, please let me know. Remember...your donation can affect three lives!

IT students attend SCC robotics workshop

Info Tech Advanced students participated in a robotics workshop at Southeast Community College in Milford, Wednesday, November 18. Nathan S, Khoi T, and Alex S built a Vex robot which operated on a 75MHz frequency.

On November 11th, the same students attended the "Build a PC Workshop" at the same institution.

Advanced IT Students Attend Workshop

Fall One-Act Play Performance

This is a special invitation to all STC parents to attend our fall one-act play. "Governing Alice" will be presented this Sunday, Nov. 15, 7 pm, in the East Gym.

The cast and crew have worked very hard, and will be putting on a great show. We hope you will be able to come support the drama team and enjoy a wonderful production.
